ESPN reports, “An MRI revealed that Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson suffered a sprained medial collateral knee ligament during Minnesota’s 23-15 victory over the Ravens on Saturday night, according to a source.” Full story here.
Monster Take: Jackson is expected to be back for the start of the season so the injury is not considered to be serious.

Fox Sports reports, “the month-long saga has finally come to an end, with the Packers agreeing to trade their future Hall-of-Fame quarterback to the New York Jets, FOXSports.com first reported Wednesday night.” Full story here.
Monster Take: This is good news for both teams. Aaron Rodgers can now settle in as the start for the Packers, while the values of Jerricho Cotchery and Laveranues Coles both get a boost.

The AP reports about the return of Brett Favre to the Green Bay Packers. “The team announced Monday afternoon that Favre had been reinstated and returned to the Packers’ active roster, as was expected.” Full story here.
Monster Take: There will reportedly be an open competition for the starting QB job. We believe the team’s first preference will be to trade him. If they’re unable to do that, it’s hard to believe that Favre won’t beat Rodgers out for the starting position. In the meantime, stay away from both of them unless you’re taking a late round flyer in very deep leagues.

NFL.com reports, “the Green Bay Packers announced the signing of Ryan Grant on Sunday, a day after the running back and team agreed to a four-year deal worth up to $30 million.” Full story here.
Monster Take: Good news for Grant and the Packers. Grant should be in store for a solid year as the Packers starter.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports, “Running back Ryan Grant did not report to training camp Sunday and based on how angry his agent was Sunday with the Packers’ first offer, it could be a long time before he’s back in uniform.” Full story here.
Monster Take: What began as amicable negotiations have now taken a distinct turn toward getting ugly. The two sides don’t sound like they’re even close. The Packers already have their hands full with the Favre distraction, they don’t need this to get ugly too. Hopefully they’ll get something put together here soon. If not, Brandon Jackson’s stock will continue to rise throughout the preseason.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports, “There is no indication RB Ryan Grant, who has been sitting out while awaiting a contract resolution, will practice in minicamp.” Full story here.
Monster Take: Coach McCarthy doesn’t seem too worried about this one. That lends us to believe that a contract will be worked out soon. However, we’ll watch this one closely and keep you updated.
