The New York Daily News reports that Jeremy Shockey “took his feud with the team to a new level this week, when he apparently had a heated exchange with Giants GM Jerry Reese during the team’s three-day minicamp.” Full story here.
Monster Take: This one has the feel of nearing the point of no return. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Shockey traded.

The Newark Star-Ledger reports, “On the day when everyone expected tight end Jeremy Shockey to be the one making headlines, it was wide receiver Plaxico Burres who dropped the bomb: He’s not participating in minicamp because he’s unhappy with his contract.” Full story here.
Monster Take: It has been reported that they’ve been trying to work out a deal here, but just haven’t got it done. Both sides seem interested in working something out so we expect this one to resolve soon.

Newsday reports, “according to a person who has been in touch with Shockey’s camp, the tight end plans to show for next week’s mini-camp (June 11-13).” Full story here.
Monster Take: Shockey is purportedly unhappy with his situation with the Giants and there was talk of a trade. However, nothing has happened on the trade front and Shockey will reportedly show up for mini-camp.

The AP reports, “On the field with the New York Giants for the first time Friday, the troubled third-round draft pick from Michigan showed flashes of why he might have been one of the biggest steals in the NFL draft.” Full story here.
Monster Take: Manningham displayed confidence and athletic ability in his debut at minicamp. Concerns about failed drug tests while in college at Michigan will dog him for a while until he proves he can keep his act together in the NFL. WR’s typically don’t make a huge splash in their rookie seasons, so we would view Manningham as a potential late round sleeper until we see more.
