Raiders wide receiver, Javon Walker, caught 4 passes for 60 yards in the Raiders pre-season game against Arizona.
Monster Take: Walker has had a bad camp and pre-season to this point. However, this effort gives hope that Walker and JaMarcus Russell can connect this year.

ESPN reports regarding Lamont Jordan. “The team released the running back Friday after an exhaustive attempt to trade him since early June. Friday’s resolution concludes a turbulent end to Jordan’s three years in Oakland.” Full story here.
Monster Take: Jordan became expendable with the drafting of Darren McFadden. He will likely be picked up by someone, but it depends on the situation as to whether he will have any fantasy value this year. We’ll keep you updated.

The AP reports on Javon Walker’s injury. “The info that I have is he’s going to be fine,” Kiffin said. “Training camp won’t be an issue. … But until our guys look at him, I don’t want to say (the extent of Walker’s injuries).” Full story here.
Monster Take: We’ll let you know when the team has a chance to examine the extent of Walker’s injuries. It sounds like he’s going to be fine for training camp, but right now that’s based on a phone call between Walker and Kiffin.

The Contra Costa Times reports, “Wide receiver Ronald Curry, back from surgery to remove a bone spur which he said hampered him all last season, returned to practice and looked as if he has never been away.” Full story here.
Monster Take: Curry will look to regain a starting spot opposite Javon Walker. Walker will demand much of JaMarcus Russell’s attention; however, Curry might be worth a look in deeper leagues.

The Contra Costa Times reports, “Jordan met with coach Lane Kiffin Tuesday morning and was told he wouldn’t practice as the club examines its options with regard to moving him off the roster.” Full story here.
Monster Take: With good production by Justin Fargas last year and the drafting of Darren McFadden this year, Lamont Jordan and his fat contract seem certain to be headed elsewhere.

The Oakland Tribune reports, “Drew Carter outperformed the more expensive Javon Walker, who Kiffin said needs to improve his conditioning.” Full article here.
Monster Take: Not a great start for Walker here, but he’s a proven producer when healthy.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports, “After an injury-free 2007 season, Curry had foot surgery two weeks ago and will miss at least another two weeks.” Full story here.
Monster Take: The procedures sounds fairly minor. Our bigger concern here is that Javon Walker will likely demand much of JaMarcus Russell’s attention this season.
