The Rocky Mountain News reports that Marshall “was cleared to fully participate in team activities this week. Marshall resumed full weightlifting and conditioning work to augment his rehabilitation regimen Monday.” The article goes on to say “he started freely catching passes with both hands and encountered no problems.” Full story here.
Monster Take: Marshall indicated that he still has some numbness on the back of his hand, but that it won’t affect his ability to catch the ball. He seems to be ahead of schedule in his recovery. Now, if he can just get his personal life in order he should be set for a very good season.

The Denver Post reports, “Marshall could be suspended by the NFL under its Personal Conduct Policy because of multiple arrests and alleged incidents.” Full story here.
Monster Take: The league has been cracking down on personal conduct issues without waiting for convictions. The fact that the league is looking into Marshall’s conduct is cause for concern.

ESPN reports, “big expectations in Denver for Travis Henry ended Monday when the Broncos released the running back one season into his five-year free-agent deal.” Full story here.
Monster Take: What is there to say other than the obvious - Henry’s prospects for 2008 just took a plunge from fantastic if he could hold off Selvin Young for the Broncos starting RB position to zippo. Young’s prospects get an immediate boost and Michael Pittman’s stock rises as well.

The Denver Post reports about Travis Henry. “There are no more chances for Travis, and he understands that,” Shanahan said. “As time goes on, we’ll see how he handles that situation. The key is he has to stay healthy and keep his nose out of trouble. If he doesn’t, somebody else will come in and do the job. It’s not like we don’t have the ability to go in different directions.” Full story here.
Monster Take: It sounds like Shanahan is losing patience with Henry. We’ll see how Henry responds.

The Denver Post reports about Travis Henry’s continued absence due to a hamstring injury. “He missed all of last week but Broncos coach Mike Shanahan had hoped Henry would return by today.” Full story here.
Monster Take: Henry should recover fine from this injury. However, he missed time last year due to injury and we’re guessing that Shanahan isn’t happy with the trend. Selvin Young filled in quite capably last year in Henry’s absence. This will be one to watch closely.

ESPN reports news of the Broncos “reaching an agreement with former Buccaneers halfback Michael Pittman.” Full story here.
Monster Take: Pittman’s receiving skills make him a likely candidate to get some third-down duty. We don’t see Pittman overtaking Travis Henry (unless his hamstring injury lingers longer than the Broncos’ patience) or Selvin Young on the depth chart, but stranger things have happened with the Broncos.

The Rocky Mountain News reports on Scheffler’s sore foot. “”We know there’s not another break in there,” coach Mike Shanahan said Thursday. “You can see that on the X-rays. But there’s something in there that keeps him quite sore, and, hopefully, with a couple weeks in the boot, he’ll come back full speed and we don’t aggravate the injury.”
Monster Take: Good news that there isn’t any further damage, but this isn’t the kind of thing you want nagging you throughout the season. Unless he comes back healthy and pain free for training camp, we’d look at other options for your fantasy roster.

The Denver Post reports that, “Scheffler is wearing a boot on his foot and will be out four weeks after experiencing recurring soreness in the foot he broke during last year’s passing camp.” Full story here.
Monster Take: Scheffler played all last season after surgery to repair the broken foot. This is probably just some early season soreness.

The AP reports that Brandon Marshall ran routes, but didn’t catch passes on Monday. “June 22 will be his first day he’s able to catch the football, which gives us plenty of time before we start our summer ball,” coach Mike Shanahan said. Full story here.
Monster Take: This is a good first step toward returning to fully practicing. We’ll keep an eye on him in June and let you know when he is back to catching balls.

The Rocky Mountain news reports that Travis Henry pulled his hamstring while running a 100-yard dash during Broncos strength and conditioning drills. Full story here.
Monster Take: Hamstring pulls are fairly commonplace during early conditioning. This one doesn’t worry us much at this point.
